Doing Laundry in Fatima

This deserves its own post mainly so I can easily find it when I come back. 😆

The laundromat down the street from the hotel is very clean. Figuring out where to put money and when to push buttons is a whole other matter.

There are 2 prices listed. One for locals who have a prepaid card and a higher rate for cash customers. Pricing is also divided up by the machine size.

Plan on a 2 hour adventure here.

Step 1:

load the washing machine. Even the smaller drums are pretty roomy so stuff it all in!

Step 2:

Insert cash or coins. You’ll get change back is unused.

Step 3:

Press button that correlates with your chosen machine.

Step 4:

Ensure door is closed, pick a temp and hit start.

The countdown timer is off. It’ll take about 10 min longer than I says.

Step 5:

Get a snack next door.

Step 6:

When it’s done, hit open button. Let it click twice to fully unlock. I fought with this button a bit to release my clothes back to me. Patience.

Step 7:

Repeat steps for dryer.
