Day 2
Morning mass followed by an impromptu visit to Oldtown Alexandria Farmers Market!
It was a Hallmark-y start with snow gently falling. We bundled up.
And I’m a total local!
The first booth we stopped at was Lebanese food run by Howla whom I met on my last Fatima pilgrimage!
Thankfully the snow subsided and we enjoyed an evening of board games at a local pub with a lovely group of Katherine’s friends. One spent time in Italy and tipped me off on another destination while I’m there. It has a Eucharistic miracle!
I knew there was a reason I haven’t booked a place to stay in Assisi yet… I didn’t need 2 nights there. Orvieto is now on my map.
Another is even from Kansas, was at KState the same time as me (20 years ago 🫣) and knows a guy I grew up with.
It’s a small, small world. And God is so, so good!
